I have over a hundred nativity scenes that were kinda clustered around the fireplace before I had floor to ceiling cabinets installed on either side of the fireplace. I have shelves with all white nativity scenes, one with ornaments dangling from the shelf above nativity scenes in globes. I plan to put flat ornaments on the sides of the cabinets. I'll need hooks for that and I don't want to use something that would pierce the wood and make permanent something that I may have to shift if I get more of the same kind of ornaments.
...do you use them all year round?
Yes, and I'm trying to get them off the floor and out of the reach of one of my dogs who likes to chew on the corners of the stables in nativity scenes or behead pieces.
I started using these Command things that aren't hooks, they are more like clips - i use them to position the garlands exactly where I want them to fall. particularly the one around the front door.
I tried some of those for some silicone bags (for drying out after I found out they were too heavy for the clips). I like the variety of options and the ability to change my mind and relocate stuff without serious damage.
