How was the weekend?
It was fine. I worked so not much going on really, just kind of busy.
For those traveling - safe travels!
We're leaving Wednesday morning to go down to the beach for the weekend, and driving from there to Mr. Kris's dad's house for Thanksgiving. At first I wanted to just go to the beach after dinner (it's on the way) but it's really only half an hour further to go there for Thanksgiving, and this way we get to go do a couple things on Wednesday without having to try and pack too much in on Friday. There's a christmas craft show at the convention center I like to go to when we're there that weekend, plus a walk through light display and this super cute little town nearby has a tree lighting Friday night. Last time we tried to go we couldn't find parking and really didn't plan things out too well, so if we go this year we know to go really early! Plus two different places have train gardens we want to see.
For anyone making anything - is your shopping done or do you still need to pick some things up?
I made a pick up order for Wednesday morning at Walmart. Fingers crossed they have everything, lol. I'm also bringing stuff to start making Christmas cookies with Jack, since we won't be going to NC early enough to make them with my nieces and nephews this year.
How much time off do you get for the holiday?
Whatever time I want to take off. My RDOs (regular days off) are Thursday-Saturday this year, and I took off tomorrow and Wednesday and then Sunday-Wednesday of next week too. That's because next Tuesday is the big 5-0 and I had wanted to travel somewhere but I ended up being too wishy washy and just not picking anywhere to go and I really didn't want to spend the money. So instead I'm getting a pedi and mani on my birthday and the next day one of my best friends is taking me to get a facial and lunch at a spa nearby. Oh and we're doing a salt cave there too which I've never done before. I might go see a movie on my birthday too although I'm not sure about that really, depends on what's out and the timing.
