For those hosting - how are preparations coming?
I have the downstairs (which is the only area guests will be in) pretty clean... and mostly decorated. The yard looks better. Driveway hazards are clearly marked. The side porch is clean. Supposedly the hubby is getting the front and back porch clean today. We shall see when I get home. Man clean is not the same as woman clean.
Yep, hubby's clean isn't always the same mine.

For anyone making anything - is your shopping done or do you still need to pick some things up?
We host... Make meat... and a few sides and few desserts. We have all the meat. But I also might need to pick up a few more plates and glasses as our group of family/friends keeps growing... I have 41 pretty solid attendees and 15 more maybes... so I want to prepare for 60. That is a lot of plates/glasses! While I am not hard core "no paper plates" I think Thanksgiving is special enough to use real dishes and glassware. I have three days after to get them all washed lol.
60??!! OMG! I have nowhere to put real dishes/glassware for that many people. Which is why we do use paper plates. Plastic cups get used for pop; there are real glasses for alcohol. And even without real dishes/glasses it still takes us several washings of dishes to get things done. (my dishwasher leaked and we didn't replace it as this is one of the few times we have more than 8 people)
How much time off do you get for the holiday?
Just Thursday and Friday. I am burning a day of leave on Wednesday too however so I can be prepared.
