Ever since we got Leo, I've either worked a second shift job where I was around until 2:00 PM or I've not worked at all. For a long time now, part of Leo's morning routine has been jumping into my lap and settling down for a nap around 9:30-ish. If he isn't disturbed, he'd stay there until noon at least but I always (gently) dislodge him long before then.
Recently, Leo has decided that my lap is a pretty ideal place for an evening nap as well. On three different evenings this past week, I've sat in my recliner for literal hours, watching TV or playing on my phone, while he gets in some zzzzz's. I generally try to let sleeping cats lie but man, all that time sitting, not doing anything productive, has not been good for me. I hope he finds (yet another) new evening napping spot soon.
(incidentally, he's not on my lap now but only because Dad made an unexpected trip to the kitchen and Leo thought he might get a post-dinner snack. Once Leo left my lap, I quickly got up, threw my old lounging robe--the one I often wear over my clothes when I'm a bit chilly--down on the recliner and beat a hasty retreat to my bedroom, where my laptop usually lives. I'm not sure whether to be glad or a bit upset that Leo rather easily accepted my old fuzzy robe as a substitute for my lap.)
