Clearly, this happened not only with his approval, but likely at his say-so. Some of the people who voted are some of his biggest allies, like Durbin. The people who voted yes were carefully chosen - either retiring anyway or JUST won, calculating (probably correctly) that people won't remember this in five years. But Schumer didn't even have the guts to be one of those votes. He tried to save his own *** by voting no (after what happened the last time) and threw other people under the bus because he doesn't seem to get that he can't recover from what's been happening. He has become so unpopular with the base, he's almost more likely to get primaried than Fetterman. Like, are you serious? You're this cowardly and self-serving? You can't even vote with the courage of your own convictions?

Also, **** Sheehan. She's annoying me almost more than the others (with the caveat that no one is worse of the Dem Senators than Fetterman). She's so condescending.

I am someone who faced real consequences and real suffering as a result of this shutdown. I have now missed two paychecks. I absolutely could not afford that - on top of partially supporting my mom without help from my brother, I have been diagnosed with a chronic illness that is very challenging - I've undergone two surgical procedures. So I feel like I have skin in this game and still, this isn't what I wanted. I wanted them to either hold out until the GOP folded, or until they ended the filibuster. Will it suck for us in the moment when it happens? Yes. As hard as it is to imagine it can get worse, it can definitely get worse. But the GOP already so brazenly works around it that it's been rendered little more than useless, and the Dem obsessive clinging to it is embarrassing. I did not want to the excuse Senators made to justify voting for another CR, because I don't want my peace to come at the expense of others.
