I can tell you right away, I won't vote for him in the primary. And I don't think he stands a chance in Hades to win nationally.

He really lost me with his stupid comments about trans athletes. Yeah, mind your own freaking business. Only 3.3% of teens here are trans, and a much smaller percentage are athletes according to UCLA. Moreover, research shows that for example trans women do not perform better than CIS women.

Then...he is really pissing me off over the Medi-Cal undocumented immigrants issue. This may be controversial, but please, tell us why you expanded coverage for them with few guardrails, while older Californians who are medically-needy have to pay HUNDREDS of dollars a month to even access the benefit they qualify for - something he has not enacted despite promising to do so in 2022, all while he's decided to summarily restore the Medi-Cal Asset test, making CA the first state to do so. The asset test is ridiculously low and inequitable, even racist. Homes are not counted, but your savings and retirement assets are, and diverse communities are more likely to hold non-housing assets.

So much for his spiel about equity.

The two programs I mentioned re: seniors would cost significantly less than the undocumented expansions.

Now he is trying to pull some of the undocumented expansions back, but I don't think the legislature will accept it. And I think they'll oppose the Medi-Cal asset test reversal as well. Absolute freaking BS.

At least he wants to implement our top housing bills, he named them pretty much, and he is leaving the Master Plan for Aging alone, but he has still lost me.
