I've become a bit numb to it, but once again I'll point out that Trump acts like this is in response to something, but it isn't. He's never really told us what he wants us to do. We have agreed to a variety of things. He just seems to want to set your economy on fire, for some reason.
I've seen so many Americans arguing passionately that the US doesn't need anything from Canada -- But it's simply not true. You guys aren't a charitable organization. We do business because it's mutually beneficial. There is tremendous will up here to use our economic power to hurt the US. The US, in contrast, seems very divided and I can't see how the tariffs are a noble cause for people who are just trying to keep the lights on and put food at the table.
When Kamala lost, one thing the Democrats were dinged for was acting like Trump winning a second term was the end of Democracy. Because it was hyperbolic, apparently.
Doesn't FEEL that hyperbolic right now.
