I'm sadly not surprised. I've known what the GOP was turning into for over 30 years. Been saying it that long but was dismissed.

Too bad too many Americans are just...blind. Too buffeted back and forth by the GOP setting the agenda, blaring it all over the nightly news, and newspapers with their screaming headlines. While the Dems just stood by and let them set an agenda they largely countered with silence in the venues where most Americans get their news.
