controllers received the same email blast that all federal workers received offering them a buyout to resign and urging them to go find more productive jobs in the private sector. I imagine that was a very stressful, upsetting, and distracting email for air traffic controllers to receive. After the crash, the Trump administration said that air traffic controllers were exempt from that “buyout” offer but neither those workers or their union were told that until after the crash. Meanwhile, Trump blamed Obama and Biden DEI hiring at the FAA.

Maybe they should rethink the idea of blasting upsetting, disrespectful emails blanketly to all 2.5 million federal employees including employees the email doesn’t apply to. I’m not saying this caused this week’s two air accidents. But it could be a contributing factor.
