I bought a new bed and frame, and some things for my house. Just some stuff I've been wanting but maybe waiting on a sale for.
Why I put this on the PB is this: It's because of Trump. After these few purchases, I have to get really careful about my spending. The movement up here is to buy Canadian. Do everything you can to avoid buying American products or anything that touches American products after Saturday. Buy local, buy national, buy international! But do not buy from the United States.
And that isn't a boycott. It's a "we can't trust them anymore and we have to find new ways to fulfill our needs" thing.
The other thing I'm seeing is enormous unity around resisting the US. You will always find those cranks who think their lives would be better if only they lived somewhere else -- but generally speaking, this has united all the parts of the country that are usually fighting with each other.
I don't know how long that will last. Trump and Elon have definitely hurt our federal conservative leader in the past week, but we will see how that plays out. But for right now, not even the Bush years were this bad for our relationship -- and they were pretty bad.
