The Turks are in the north and their proxy the SNA no doubt will soon be fighting our proxy, the Kurds/SDF. The Russians for the moment still have their bases in the Alawite region.
I don't have much faith that a government formed by HTS will be an improvement over Assad, but it's amazing to see how it won't even get a chance, after all of the international bloviating about concern for the Syrian people.
