really disappointed in his family and friends supporting Trump. He said to me that "America corrupts. It corrupts races, cultures, identities, religions, even families". That hit hard but I see the truth in it. We've created this myth of rugged individualism that so many have adopted the philosophy of "I got mine, you're on your own". They somehow think they will be immune to what is coming down the line, it will only affect other people.
I also heard a podcaster talking about how the right is still so angry. They "won", but they're furious about it. I think a part of them wanted Trump to lose so they could keep on being mad, keep on blaming everyone else for their problems instead of self-reflecting on why their lives feel unfulfilled. But now they have him so what happens when their life doesn't get magically better? Who will they be mad at then?
