but to Republicans, the cruelty is the point.

The Democrats wouldn't have complained about having lots of immigrants arrive if Gov. Abbott had coordinated the transfer. He wanted the spectacle and didn't care that he was risking people's health or lives. Back to the cruelty being the point.
