A lot of Americans, include many on the left like myself, it is not something they support.
As for things like pronouns in kindergartner that plays into the idea that schools are not focusing on teaching the fundamentals.
One issue I think Ds should run hard on is getting rid of yearly assessment testing. EVERYONE hates and only wealthy suburban schools can afford it. It is one issue that unites both urban and rural schools. Ds at every level should run on stop spending money on these tests and instead re-invest that money in vocational training.
When I was in school we only took the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) once every 3 years - in 1st, 4th, 7th, 10th, and it wasn't used as a gate to keep us from moving to the next grade. Rather it was used as a way to see how schools were doing at teaching the basics. We should get back to that.
We also should bet back to having shop and other skills based curricula in schools. Ds would be smart to become the party of doubling down on vocational education.
