Not as upset as she was when POTUS Trump won in 2016. She, literally, cried for three days straight.

This morning, she looked sad and dejected. Part of it was because her friend, who is a staunch Trump supporter, had sent her a picture and told her to show it to me so I would cry. (She didn't show me the picture.)

To her, it's the gloating, the gleeful enthusiasm that they hurt somebody or that somebody would cry because they "won." It's not the thrill of winning. It's the thrill of making somebody else suffer.

She said that the character of the country had changed.

I told her that these are not the people who would storm an enemy position or land at Normandy. These people would call people who did suckers and losers. They would not abide by rationing goods for the country. They wouldn't wear a mask or stand farther apart during a global pandemic.

I went on to tell her if her friend will only be happy if I'm miserable, then he'll never be happy. The degree of his happiness is determined by how miserable another person feels. He could be having a great time...until he sees someone he doesn't like smiling across the room, and his mood would sink to the basement.

That's how Jim Crow worked. A white man knew that there would always be someone lower than him. That's how President LBJ explained it, and he grew up in the Jim Crow era. MAGAs are the same way.

Sad. Truly sad.

My sister didn't like it when I sent her the link to the article about MAGA allies admitting that they're using Project 2025 as their agenda. She'd sent me a text reply the morning after the election that RePOTUS-elect Trump has nothing to do with Project 2025. She texted back, "Just stop."

I replied, "I'll try to act surprised...meanwhile, I told you so."
