a strong voter turnout even when there's not much to vote on, but it's usually a steady flow of voters and the folks who volunteer to work at the voting place have done so for a long time, so they have it
down. It's usually no more than 10 minutes from the time we walk in to the time we walk out.
There is also the possibility of craziness happening: protestors, unhinged MAGA supporters, inclement weather, etc. I did it at our local courthouse and I'm so glad to be dunzo!
Hmmm. Small Midwestern town also usually means no protestors...but bad weather is always a possibility here in NE Ohio.
