For the first time in decades, just over half of younger voters voted (18-29). About 55% voted. It was an 11-point jump from 2016. Hence I was alarmed when I saw Biden start to bleed support with younger voters because of Palestine. I was convinced Michigan was already gone, between Muslim voters and younger voters. I didn't think they'd vote for Trump - they just weren't going to show up, and Biden could not win without them.
Honestly, their biggest failing right now is never showing up for primaries, lol. That's the thing - if you can't win over Black voters, especially Black women, you will never win a Democratic primary, so how you'll do in a general is almost academic (also why I knew we had to put in Kamala, and not make the GRIEVOUS error of throwing her aside so our party leaders could appoint another white dude). But they are inching higher in recent years in voting biannually, at least, to the point where they still don't vote enough to be represented by the candidates they want, but we can't win if they stay home at 2016 levels.
