Definitely agree. I think it was done a little too cut and dry with Maxie choosing spinelli. I mean it makes sense on paper but ignores the history she had with Nathan.
Though just waking up, has maxie really even had time to process Nathan is alive vs. Spinelli held everything together while she was away. It felt a little murky to me. Is it obligation or is it true love? They should have given maxie a bit more time to figure it out but at the same time Lulu is getting a shot in the toe because if Maxie does come to that realization and Nathan changes his mind because he is informed Maxie may want him, Lulu in a way gets what she deserves.
Also it doesn't say much about Lulu/Nathan that if Maxie had chosen him he would have gone back to her. How deep are his feelings for lulu vs how shallow if that was the case. Perhaps he would have gone back to maxie because he felt obligated but even then that is a conversation him and Lulu need to have.
The attraction isn't that deep if it all depended on if Maxie wanted him. They are the ones that created that situation and narrative, not the viewer. Just feels wrong to me.
