There are instances where he has shown that he sympathizes with Laura that they are trapped due to how treacherous Jenz is. Din get me wrong, he is smarmy and a tad douchey. I think he even gleefully went along with things at first and wants power but he knows there is no way out of their predicament.

As we know, no one likes to record any wrongdoing on this show 🤭
