I'm enjoying the show moving Ric into being a good character instead of a Drew flunky. It makes me pull for Ric and Elizabeth (I wasn't watching the first time they were together). I have been watching for years now and Elizabeth hasn't had a front burner storyline. It is also nice to see Maxie back with an actual story that will last longer than everybody rejoicing she's back.
Willow is so much more interesting screwing Drew and Michael over so she can have full custody of her kids. She blames them for loosing them, and is being ruthless in getting them out of the way -- Michael in jail and Drew with his body and voice destroyed. Crazy and vicious Willow is more fun to watch than victim Willow. Also, given her history and the last year or so, her wigging out is supported. I'm also looking forward to Chase discovering that "perfect Willow" played him.
It will be interesting to see what Alexis and Trina do when they realize Willow has framed Michael.
The Cody storyline is blah, but overall there is much going on now that is interesting.
