I went to this church as a kid with my grandmother and every Wednesday night they would do Bible Trivia. Men vs. Women and the "bet" was that whoever lost the most rounds had to cook breakfast for the other team on Easter morning, after a sunrise service. The men lost so they cooked several years in a row. Eventually they stopped doing the trivia but the men cooking breakfast remained a thing.
I don't go to that church anymore but my little cousin does now and I heard her say awhile back "The men are going to cook breakfast Easter morning. I don't know why they do it every year. I guess it's just a tradition". It's funny because like maybe 1 or 2 people from my childhood still go to that church but that "tradition" remained. Just let it be the Q's thing now. No explanation needed.
