A romantic pairing is not the same thing as a storyline! I believe Molly is supposed to be an Assistant DA ... I seem to remember scenes where someone mentions her job although she has been nowhere to be seen in the storyline of the DA going after Anna and Laura as well as Molly's dad.
The show needs to give Molly a solid storyline that integrates her into the show more and then introduce a love interest. Simply giving her scenes with Cody -- who has been all over the canvas -- isn't going to do anything for either character.
Story first, and then see if there is a love interest that works.
