so it was a stupid move, I'm fine with it because the show set up why she would do it. I also understand why she let Brad blackmail her into give him his job back BUT when his demands escalated and Curtis started to notice something was wrong, THAT is when she should have told him!

Curtis would have been angry, but he could have understood. It is the lie ... after he forgave her when he discovered she'd lied when she told him Trina was not his daughter. He made it clear then that honesty was critical and she promised she would always tell him the truth. When Drew took over the blackmail from Brad, it was the last chance she had to tell Curtis. Instead while she tried to get rid of him behind the scenes, she was letting him pull the strings in public -- where Curtis was bound to notice.
