The only way for her to help herself is to present herself to a mental health facility for help. Without that, she opens herself up to decades In prison. First of all, she needs help and secondly it helps her defense should she be charged for the attempted murders.

If she chose to not admit herself and she gets charged she has nobody to blame but herself.
