Flawed as they are, they each do their best when with their daughter, and either one having full custody while the other is denied makes no logical sense and would hurt Avery. It's not like the choice is Laura or Liz on one side and Sonny on the other ... or Chase or Dante on one side and Ava on the other.

Neither Sonny nor Ava have the moral high ground here. The reality is they are Avery's parents, they both love her and she loves them.
