Michael admitted he had no intention of going to full custody, he just wanted Willow to taking a moment from gazing lovingly at Drew and realize she needs to talk to Michael about where they go from here. As far as we know, the last time they spoke was when he went to her when she took her kids away on Christmas Eve without a word, to confirm to talk. Since the kids were there he didn't want to make a big deal and let her have the kids that night, but apparently they did not talk the next day.
Then Carly, without discussion, goes for full custody without talking to Willow or waiting to see what Michael wants.
And now Willow is going for full custody without waiting to see how Michael does.
All these knee jerk reactions isn't serving anyone, least of all the children.
