All these hack writers had to do was pen dialogue where Willow said: Willow do you remember your great uncle Lucas? The rest could have played out the exact same way.
Yes! Even just Wylie being like "Uncle Lucas, you're back!" would've worked. Anything but that weird writing. Are we suppose to believe Lucas hasn't be around for Christmas or Thanksgiving in like ten years? Never even sent Wylie a birthday present?
My mom had 2 brothers who died before I born but I still knew their names and faces based off pictures my grandmother kept of them. It is just sloppy writing to act like Wylie wouldn't know Lucas.
