Simply tripping isn't going to provide enough momentum to break through windows -- let alone propel them far enough out to land in the pool.

Having the windows open would have been more believable without loosing any of the drama.

I can be a good spot about plot points when the writers make an effort to set up why a character is forced to behave against their natural inclinations, or how an accident could spin out of control.
