The penalty for 2nd degree assault in NY is 2-7 years. Now if a conviction was secured--DA or ADA could make a case for 7 years based on this is the second time in 6 months that Sonny physically assaulted someone.
I would think the goal here is to get him in prison. I guess she wants 20 years. You know what else is missing here? Where is Jason/Carly's panic over what happens if Sonny continues like this and ends up in prison or n a padded room? I mean, won't they be back in the same predicament they were in when he was presumed dead but in Nixon Falls? His enemies will go for his territory.
Speaking of territory. Both Selina and Sonny live in Port Charles, which isn't that big so does she own the block West of the park and Sonny owns the territory East of the park? 🤣
