she didn’t mention to him about Sonny sending Dex to kill Cyrus after the fact but then again—she’s smart enough to know that would put an even bigger target on Dex.

I thought Anna explained her rationale nicely. Sonny is a career criminal. What is he going to do object? He knows she’s right. He has a ton of respect for Laura and she pretty much told him the same thing.
