As someone who watched GH and AMC for decades, I can honestly say

that the character development and consistency was far better on AMC. And AMC regularly gave their stories a beginning, middle and satisfying climax. I mean, we still don't even know who killed Austin. Not a huge character but it was just dropped. And GH constantly gives their characters ailments and botch the medical stories.

GH hasn't done that successfully in a loooooooong time. Stories start off great or intriguing and then pay off falls flat.
