I posted that I liked the direction and the originality as Karen already said--this could have so easily have gone into the Adam wants Joss so turns into a crazy stalker plot.
One poster said he can't relate because they keep telling us that Adam is fretting over receiving an A-. I do agree with that. I wish they would at least say he got a B. Here is one another poster just said:
While I can’t personally relate, I know this is real. I teach a graduate course and this past fall, I had a student in my office sobbing because she got an A- on my exam. I had to console her. My field has gotten extremely competitive and students are anxious to maintain a 4.0. It causes stress. When I was in school, I was sobbing because I may not pass. I would have bought myself a steak dinner if I got an A-! 🤣
The other poster who said he could not relate replied with:
That's crazy, considering their degrees likely won't count for much, let alone the difference between an A and A-minus.
Fair point. I get the competitiveness. I had a huge chip on my shoulder in grad school. I had a perfect 4.0, perfect attendance, and I won a thesis award. Although I did prove something to myself, none of that matters in the real world. Unless you're going for a full professorship.
