There has never been any discussion about Spencer wanting to go to college or even what he wants to do with his life. Laura, Nikolas, Alexis, Cameron, Joss, Trina, nobody has asked him.
I blame the writers because months ago the put out there that as the first son of the first son + Nik's absence, Spencer is now at the helm of the Cassadine fortune and that includes Cassadine Industries. That's why he went to Alexis to look over the paperwork he received. That has gone NOWHERE!
I'll mention my idea again that is a total missed opportunity. Right now Valentin is floundering. He's not thinking about ELQ and has been MIA. Spencer and Valentin are on good terms now. Why not have Valentin train Spencer and show him the business? When Nikolas returns then he and Valentin could battle for the CEO spot of Cassadine Industries and now that Spencer is on the board, he casts his vote for Valentin which leave Nikolas both pissed and out in the cold. So as the first son of the first son, Nikolas would be back in charge of the fortune, but not running the company! Years from now, Spencer can takeover the helm.
