All My Children Update for Wednesday, 11-Dec-2002

David and Jackson play "Let's Make A Deal." David pleads guilty to vandalizing a dead body so that charges against him will be dropped and Anna can be reinstated. Jackson is suspicious, but agrees to David's terms. David confides to Jackson that he wants Anna to be behind a desk for the remainder of her pregnancy, but Jackson claims there is little he can do to keep Anna from doing exactly what she wants to. David is then sentenced to spend the next 6 months working at the free clinic.

Anna goes shopping for maternity wear at The Boutique, where she catches a pick-pocket (and has some of the BEST lines describing how she looks pregnant.) Just as she's missing police work, the Comish calls to offer Anna her job back and surprises her with news of David's guilty plee. She returns home to find David working on the cradle (being tied up by Aiden must have put him behind schedule) and Anna tells him she's been reinstated as police chief. They celebrate by making love. Later, David worries about the safety of the baby when Anna rushes off to the scene of a car-jacking.

J.R. finds Lori visiting her mother's grave. They find out that they have something in common -they both have dead mothers. They bond over how it feels to be a "motherless child" and end up kissing.

Mia is being released from the hospital, but first Tad has some sharp words for Jake regarding Liza's arrest. Jake defends his decision, however. Then Marian and Stuart come by to see Mia, who learns that they both knew that Liza pushed her out the window, and nobody said anything!

In jail, Adam tells Liza that he loves her and wants to continue their marriage. Although she still loves Adam, Liza is dubious that they can make a go of it one more time. Liza finally agrees when Adam suggests they see a marriage counselor. Tad arrives just as a joyous Adam is leaving, and is astonished that Liza fell for Adam's lines - AGAIN! Tad then informs Liza that it was Jake who had her arrested. Next, Brooke comes to visit Liza!

Adam stops by the hospital to ask Mia to drop the charges against Liza. Adam then tells a surprised Marian and a delighted Stuart that he and Liza are getting back together. Then he tells Mia that Jake was the one who had Liza arrested. Mia has mixed feelings about her sister being in jail. After everyone leaves the room, Jake tells Mia that he wants her to come home with him.
