All My Children Update for Thursday, 31-Oct-2002

After emerging from hypnosis, Maria/Maureen is visibly shaken by a 5-year old memory of her cozying up to David. (Even more earth shattering - she realizes her hair style/color hadn't changed much either.) When Maria vants to be alone, Edmund doesn't understand and tries to pry info out of Doc MacMillan. Still holed up in the cabin with the complex -misunderstood but ya gotta love him- David, Anna appears to weaken under his spell. Ooooh -a tender moment - David reveals he's a different person now, because of Anna. (Guess it just takes the love of a good woman...hmmm.) David meets the anxious Maria in that same ol' park where everyone in Pine Valley feels compelled to reveal secrets or admit past drug use... he admits her memory of him is valid. Yes, he was in love with her, but being the ethical doc he is, they were never lovers. In fact, he sent her to Nevada for her own good. Another woman melts -- Maria embraces him -- just in time for that quintessential soap-opera-moment - yes, Edmund happens to be in the park and gets a "rage on" and attacks David.

Brooke and Opal's efforts to cheer up Tad through Dixie-like Halloween decor doesn't do the trick. (But it sure does spruce up the house. Never looked better. Set decorators - take note.) A new JR (please bring back the old one) and Jamie leave, upset at Tad's reaction. Brooke reminds Tad that the boys miss Dixie, too. A trick-o-treater comes to the door - it's Colby and the rejuvenated Adam, both looking for "goodies." When Tad conviently leaves the room - and Opal propels Colby to the kitchen for palm-reading and cookies (hey, where's Children Protective Services when you need them?) Adam tries in vain to convince Brooke to join him in adultery again, but no-can-do. Brooke suggests to the amorous silver haired one to look up his wife. An exhausted Anna hands Jack her badge as she can't resist her complex ex-hubby but Jackson tucks her in (what? no goodnight kiss)and leaves the badge behind.
Brooke returns home to find Adam in a bordello-red satin robe grinning, on her bed. (Think she'd rather find a spider. Oh wait, she did.)
