All My Children Update for Tuesday, 19-Feb-2002

Vanessa gets a call from her men and assumes that the boat sunk and that Greenlee and Jake are dead. She also assumes Mateo has died. Vanessa gets a visit from Palmer who taunts her about Larry's death. He says that she will not get a cent from him. Privatly Vanessa states that she will not be needing his money.
Leo goes to the bar to confront the man who sold the boat to Jake. Leo is confused when he finds out that there were several things wrong with the boat and no food when it "took off". Leo thinks that maybe something is wrong.
On the island as Jake tries to get Greenlee to wake up, Greenlee has a wacky Gilligan's Island fantasy. In it Vanessa tries to kill her, and both Gilligan who is really Leo and the Professor who is really Jake say they can help her. Greenlee does not know which man to choose though. When a groggy Greenlee finally wakes up Jake confesses to her that he loves her.
Erica decides to win back Bianca by befriending Maggie. Erica visits Maggie and Maggie does not really want to be friends with her. When Bianca tells her to go, a determined Erica finally leaves. Bianca and Maggie find out that Frankie has left a hidden message in the sonnet book. Maggie starts to read it, but then lies to Bianca and tells her that it does not make any sense. Before Bianca leaves, Maggie steals back the sonnet book and once alone reads the message. It says "Vannessa evil".
Haley screams when she finds a stabbed Mateo in his cell thinking he is dead. It turns out that Mateo only has a bump on his head from falling down. Chris had warned Mateo earlier that there was a hit on him and had given Mateo a protection vest. The vest had saved Mateo's life. Chris manages to track down the man sho stabbed Mateo and asks him who Proteus is. Before giving him an answer the man keels over and dies from a "heart attack." Thinking back to officer Sweeny's strange death, Chris wonders if someone is giving people drugs to make them have heart attacks. He decides to try to find someone who has survived one of these mysterious heart attacks. Haley is diappointed to learn that Mateo must stay in jail a little longer.
