News for the week of 30-Jun-2014

by Carol Banks Weber

Amelia Heinle (Victoria) didn’t think she’d win the Emmy for outstanding supporting actress — even though her former co-star Billy Miller (ex-Billy), who won his third, told her she would. She was so surprised, she didn’t even accept her award with a prepared speech. But her on-the-fly acknowledgement of her sister stricken with cancer was nice. She wore an orange gown to the Emmys, picked out by her fans. After her win, she told the press that everyone at Y&R struggled with the different Billys. “The Billy switching has been rough on all of us… We have a new, new Billy [now]. Every actor brings something different [to the role.] Billy Miller was the actor I worked with for the past five years, so it takes a little while. I have faith that it will be okay.” Daytime Confidential, June 23, Sara Bibel

Robert Adamson (Noah) and Linsey Godfrey (Caroline, B&B) had their baby daughter, June 12. Her name is Aleda Seren.

The latest Billy Abbott spoke only of kind, welcoming co-stars and excitement about taking on the recast role in a June 25th, Michael Fairman interview. Burgess Jenkins said he has nothing to do with what went on behind the scenes, only that he’s eager to take on this role. “Everyone has been incredibly supportive moving forward and not only that, but I don’t know all the ins and out of that stuff and what went on… and I will leave it at that.  I can’t speak intelligently about what went on before because I don’t know all that happened.”
