News for the week of 18-Aug-2014
by Carol Banks Weber
Camryn Grimes (Mariah; ex-Cassie) will live-tweet with CBS’s Y&R fans August 19, 9:30 a.m. PST on Twitter.
Best news ever. Shemar Moore (Criminal Minds) reprises his role as Neil’s brother Malcolm for two shows, September 10-11. He told PEOPLE’s Lynette Rice it was a long time coming. “There is not a 20-year career without Malcolm Winters. This is my second family. I don’t take any of it for granted. I’ve been wanting to do this since I left.” He left in 2005 after coming on the soap like gangbusters in 1995, making hearts swoon. He’ll return in scenes with Kristoff St. John (Neil). The two bring up the late Druscilla. Moore also wished Dru’s portrayer Victoria Rowell could’ve returned with him. He saw her a few weeks prior to the August 12th PEOPLE interview.
Unofficially taking over as the resident hunk, Redaric Williams (Tyler) landed a second gig, in the “hip-hopera” musical Rebellious Soul with Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’s K. Michelle. Here’s a video for “Damn.”

Michael Muhney (ex-Adam) tweeted that he was close to returning but then no go, probably never going back. Here’s his actual, August 13th tweet: “Just got an official call, although things got very close, I will not be returning to Y&R. That part of my life is over. Moving on...” According to Daytime Confidential’s inside sources, though, this never happened.
