News for the week of 07-Dec-2015
The rumor from several months ago is true. Emmy-nominated Jason Thompson (soon-to-be-ex-Patrick, GH) has moved on to Y&R as the recast Billy Abbott. Weirdly, Billy Miller used to play this character before he left and signed up for rival soap, GH, to play a recast Jason. Expect to see Thompson as Billy on-screen next month.
Jensen Buchanan (Judge Elise “Maximum Moxley”) applauded the Y&R cast for its professionalism and hospitality in her December 1st CBS.com interview. The daytime veteran hasn’t been on the scene in a while, not since she played the short-lived nurse Melissa Bedford in 2002 on GH. She enjoyed the break and is enjoying the return with such a “cream of the crop” cast. “I can only believe that [working with them] has only upped my game as well ... I was just really impressed with all of them.” As for that new Y&R nickname, Buchanan revealed that her friends and family dig it too, referring to her as “Maximum Moxley” a lot. Since rejoining daytime, Buchanan has also joined social media with a Twitter handle, loving the interaction with fans firsthand. “It's been a real learning experience. You know, the whole social media aspect did not exist when I was on TV in the past ... I like to hear what people have to say.”
