You don't want them in female spaces. I DON'T understand the problem with the USA Today thing, except that people who are angry do not accept trans women as women. And you're right that you're in the majority for the most part. I just find that very, very sad. The same way I found it really sad back when the majority of Americans believed gay marriage was wrong.
I have no issue with a trans woman winning a Woman of the Year award, because trans women are WOMEN. I don't know where you want them to go. Actual behavioral-based research shows that trying to force trans people out of gendered places or trying to make them use spaces based on their biological sex is akin to conversion therapy. And we can force them out of certain places or into certain places, but for me, it's wrong. It's just wrong, to treat trans people that way. I have a trans woman in my division - if anyone tries to force her to use the men's restroom, I will actively fight to protect her. Because she's not hurting anyone, and she is a woman. Her existence is no threat to anyone.
